In a time of unprecedented health care challenges, TCU’s DNP-to-Ph.D. in nursing bridge program stands out as a beacon of hope and progress. It is building a stronger health care workforce, one nurse educator at a time.

The 2024 TCU Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) graduates celebrated their achievements this past weekend with hooding and commencement ceremonies before starting their next chapter.

Kinesiology Master’s student, Lauren Wagner, evaluates the LiiNK Project’s impact on physical imbalances in elementary schools. Researching play’s impact on childhood development sheds light on the emotional and physical benefits of unstructured play in school curricula.

By developing nurse educators who are prepared to lead, TCU is not only addressing the current nursing shortage but also ensuring that healthcare education—and by extension, patient care—remains robust and forward-thinking.

The nurse educator shortage in Texas is a pressing issue that threatens the future of health care in the state. However, programs like TCU’s DNP-Ph.D. bridge offer a solution by preparing advanced practice nurses to transition into educator and leadership roles.

This annual event brings together students from Harris College and pre-health majors in TCU’s College of Science & Engineering, providing them with an opportunity to network, build community and leave empowered as future health care professionals.

TCU has been supporting first-generation college students through its TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) since 1997. Some of Harris College’s First-Gen students share encouragement and advice to others navigating their First-Gen journey.

During the 2023 Premier Green Honors Chair lecture, Eduardo Salas, Ph.D. expresses that effective teams require defined goals and purpose; role clarity, timely and efficient communication; and a supportive leader set the foundation for effective teamwork.
